Making play dough with Miss Wright!

How to make your own play dough

You will need…

2 cups flour

1/2 cup salt

2 tablespoons cream of tartar

2 tablespoons vegetable oil or baby oil

1 cup boiling water

Food colouring (if you don’t have this, you could use cocoa powder, flower petals or glitter instead).

Combine the flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil. If you have food colouring, mix this with the water first, then add to the dry ingredients. Stir stir stir until the ingredients form a dough. Knead the dough until it is soft and no longer sticky (you may need to add more flour at this point!).

If you don’t have the ingredients for the recipe above, don’t worry! Here is a recipe using just two ingredients (this makes the softest play dough ever). You will need…

2 cups cornflour

1 cup conditioner

Combine the ingredients, then mix mix mix until it forms a firm dough. Knead the dough until soft.

Now it’s your turn to get messy! Don’t forget to post pictures of your creations on Tapestry 🙂
