The Rotakids have been out in the local community completing a litter pick. The children were shocked with how much rubbish they found but are happy knowing that they have made a positive impact on their local community.

RE Visit
On Monday afternoon, Year 4 had a visit from Rev. Laura Montgomery. They learnt all about what charity means to Christians and some of the ways that the people in her churches are charitable. She then set the children a task to research one of 4 charities: Christian Aid, The Children’s Society, Tearfund and Compassion. In pairs, the children created their own informative posters based on the charity of their choice. What a great afternoon!’
Y5 Green Fingers
Year 5 planted blackberry bushes, raspberry canes, redcurrants, blackcurrants and rhubarb in the new countryside area at school.
Everyone’s looking forward to feasting on them in the summer!
Y5 Author Visit
This half term Y5 worked on completing a narrative piece of writing. They wrote an extra chapter to the book ‘Viking Boy’. The writing produced was of such a high caliber we decided to share it with the author of the book, Tony Bradman. Tony spoke to the children and answered lots of their questions, inspiring our budding writers of the future.
Teeth Week beginning 22nd November
In Year 4, our current Science topic is looking at teeth and digestion. Last week, we learnt about the different types of teeth and their functions, before creating models using marshmallows. This week, we will be doing an experiment to see how different liquids can affect the surface of our teeth!Â
We have also been busy in Design and Technology making our Roman Catapults. To do this successfully, we needed to use our Maths learning about measurement to make sure we cut out all the pieces of wood accurately. We needed to be safe when using equipment like saws. We worked with our talk partners to keep each other safe. When we were finished, we tested them out with toy soldiers!
Swimming Success in Year 6
A big well done to our Year 6 pupils for all their hard work in swimming this year. We’re really proud of their achievements!
