UEA Orchestra Outreach Day

Today a group of our Key Stage 2 students attended an activity day at the UEA. They had the chance to speak to students and find out all about what it is like to study at university. As part of this, students listened to some musicians and ask questions about extra-curricular opportunities at university. Thank you to the UEA for hosting us!

Art in Year 6

Following our trip to the Sainsbury’s Centre, Year 6 have been printing patterns inspired by African art onto paper. We will use this paper to build up an image of African clothing. – Maison

We have been inspired by looking at traditional African clothing and cloths. We have created our own stamps. – Nadia

Key Stage 2 Singing

This week we had a visitor come in to run a singing workshop. John (from St. Peter Mancroft church) came in to talk to the children about their choir and the opportunity to become a chorister. If your child is interested in this opportunity and has not received a letter, please speak to Mrs Sims!

Chinese New Year Celebrations

Yesterday a group of children from year 5 were invited to Norwich School to join in with their Chinese New Year celebrations.

There was Chinese calligraphy writing, a tea ceremony, Chinese dragon dancing, the Chinese New Year story and a Chinese reading competition. The event ended with a small Chinese banquet buffet.

Many thanks to Norwich School for inviting us.

Times Table Songs

Our talented year 4, 5 and 6 pupils have been impressing us with these times table songs. It’s all part of our 8 week focus on developing times table knowledge in school.

Year 6 sing the 12 times table

Year 5 sing the 7 times table

Year 4 sing the 3 times table

Treasure Hunt a Success!

As part of our times table focus, children had the opportunity to join in with a pirate themes treasure hunt. As well as hunting round the school grounds to find the hidden clues, the KS2 children needed to answer multiplication questions. Children in EYFS and KS1 were challenged to find all the even numbers and order them in a sequence. We had great fun and there was even prizes! Thank you for everyone who joined in the fun.

Year 2 Reading Café

Year 2 had a great time at their reading cafe. The children worked with their adults to draw animals for their ‘Animal Toy Shop’!
